MF-11
|
EKO Net Pyrradiometer Model MF-11 measures directly diurnal radiation
of balance including short and long wave components. Generally,
the measurement of net radiation has been performed only; in meteorology,
but nowadays it is applied to following fields also:
Agriculture Prediction of minimum temperature and frost
damage, estimate of heat loss from greenhouse and evaporation from
crop fields and ground surfaces
Pollution
Estimateofatmosphericstabilityandclouddensity
Civilengineering
Pred;ctionofroadfreezing,estimateofevaporationfrom damsandheatbalancesofbuildingsurfaces
The EKO Net pyrradiometer MF-11 is a newly developed model having
advanced characteristics of both wind-through type and wind-protectiontype,
each of which has been used widely in this field.
|
The fan is the most important part in this instrument.
It has three purposes:
1) to send the constant air current over the dome outside,
2) to supply the dry air in the dome inside and
3) to increase the efficiency of the electronic dryer. Dried air sent
to the domes inside keeps the shape of the dome hemispherical during
measurement, and at the same time prevents the domes from freezing.
The sensing part consists of 250 series thermopiles made of copper
and constantan. |

Pyrradiometer

MF-11A
|
By covering lower or upper side of the sensor with an adaptor,
the MF-11 can also be used as Pyrradiometer, which measures upward
or downward radiation flux. Long wave radiation during the night has
a close relation with freezing, mist, frost, minimum temperature,
etc. |
|
|
Thesensing part is the same as that of the MF-11. The adaptor covers
the lower or upper side sensor of the MF-11. The black body radiation
energy emitted from the inside wall of the adaptor is determined by
measuring the wall surface temperature ''T" with the built-in platinum
resistance. Therefore, the incoming radiation ''R'' is expressed
as: R = kE + αT4
where kE is the heat f1ux-passing through the sensing part of the
Pyrradiometer. By adding a special convertor for the Pyrradiometer
the actual incoming radiation can directly be recorded.

Arm Net Pyrradiometer MF-40
without artificial ventilation system
|
This instrument is useful for not only on horizontal plane installation,
but also on declined or vertical surface installation. It is most
suitable for measuring netradiation on wall surfaces and/or canopies
of the field.
|
| The instrument is of arm type net pyrradiometer which is specially
designed for measuring net radiation in every direction through on
declined or vertical surfaces. |
